Required QUALIFICATIONS • Master’s degree in Special Education or closely related field • Minimum of three years’ successful teaching Special Education in K-12 settings • Academic credentials reflecting a sufficient knowledge base in special education • Demonstrated commitment to cultural responsiveness, equity, and inclusiveness, addressing the needs of a diverse student body Desired QUALIFICATIONS • Doctoral degree in Special Education or closely related field • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with students, faculty, and schools in diverse settings (urban, suburban, and rural) • Evidence of or potential for collaboration and co-teaching, technology utilization, and online instruction • Evidence of or potential for successful teacher candidate supervision and related clinical experiences • Commitment to facilitating positive change in teacher education programs • Knowledge of EdTPA and/or various teacher evaluation systems • Current Licensure in the Special Education or closely related field RESPONSIBILITIES • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate Special Education field-based methods courses on or off-campus or online • Supervise clinical residency and related field experiences • Model technology integration in classroom experiences • Collaborate with local school systems in the preparation of teachers • Attend department and program area meetings • Other duties as assigned by the department chairperson SALARY & BEGINNING DATE Salaries are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is a one-year (12-month) non-tenure-track appointment with potential for annual renewal. The anticipated date of appointment is August 17, 2021.
