The Special Education Department at the University of Southern Maine invites applications for a one-year lecturer for mild to moderate disabilities special education and instructional technology to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the special education and instructional technology programs. The successful candidate will teach a range of courses in special education, including student teaching, and provide service to the program, university, community, and profession.

Applicants will have earned a Master’s degree in special education, or a related field by time of employment. Experience in direct or indirect service for students with disabilities in K-12 settings, teaching university educator preparation courses, and providing instructional technology coursework or professional development is required.
Experience in implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), mentoring new teachers or student teachers, and/or special education for students who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
