MTSU’s Department of Elementary and Special Education invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#116020) at the assistant/associate professor rank. Start date for the position is August 1, 2019.
Primary responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate instruction in elementary, early childhood, and/or special education. This position would be responsible for supporting instruction across programs related to assessment, differentiation, inclusion, and multi-tiered systems of support. Responsibilities could include teaching students in the introductory education or technology courses. Other responsibilities include curriculum development, supervision of students in field-based placements, and collaboration with other faculty.
Mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students, university/college/departmental/public school service, and scholarly activity relevant to the candidate’s discipline also required.
Responsibilities also may include other teaching assignments in the EdD or PhD programs, and/or other College of Education programs, based on the qualifications of the faculty and the needs of the department and college programs. Teaching assignments may include courses that meet outside of normal business hours (some midweek and/or Friday evenings & weekends). Some courses meet off campus and may require travel. (All program related travel is reimbursed per MTSU Travel Policies.)
Doctorate in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Special Education (with a focus on inclusion and/or multi-tiered systems of support) or other closely related field by appointment date.
