Reporting to the Executive Director of Specialized Student Services, the Director of Special Education provides senior leadership support to the Special Education ESA to ensure that children receive a free appropriate public education consistent with the requirements of state and federal law.
The Director is a critical and highly visible position identified as a successor role to the Executive Director of Specialized Student Services.
Assignment/Location: This position is full time, 12 months (260 days/year) and will provide services from our ESD 112 Vancouver Campus. The Director position is located on Level B of the Senior Program Manager schedule with salary placement to be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Hold or be eligible to hold a valid Washington state administrator credential.
Five years of educational leadership experience as a special education administrator.
Experience supervising certificated and non-certificated special education employees.
Experience designing curriculum and instructional strategies for special education populations.
Experience delivering professional development to teachers and staff.
