We invite applicants for the Clinical Associate Professor in Applied Behavior Analysis position. The position is a full-time, year-to-year, non-tenure eligible, academic-year appointment (with the possibility for summer teaching). The successful candidate will teach online courses and supervise students in a rigorous Master of Arts program in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. This fully online program pairs research and experience to prepare professionals to provide therapy based on ABA principles to individuals with special learning and behavior needs. The program offers university coursework pre-approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board for students interested in sitting for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst examination. The candidate will also have opportunities to collaborate with nationally recognized faculty in research and educational leaders in innovation and program development. Major responsibilities include the following: (1) teaching graduate courses in the MA program in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis; (2) designing and implementing BACB-approved elective practicum experiences; (3) leading the training and development of part-time co-instructors; (4) collaborating on the assessment of program effectiveness, continuous improvement of the program, and BACB approval processes; and (5) providing service to the institution, profession, and community. This position requires a regular presence as needed to collaborate with peers on ASU campuses in the Phoenix, Arizona, metropolitan area.
Doctoral degree from an accredited university in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field
Five or more years professional experience working with individuals using the principles of applied behavior analysis
Demonstrated experience with the design and implementation of university BACB verified course sequence programs.
Demonstrated knowledge of current practices and research in applied behavior analysis
Demonstrated knowledge of the BACB Task List, and the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts
Meets the BACB Supervision requirements to supervise the applied experience of those pursuing BACB certification
Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation and administration of supervision meeting BACB standards for university intensive practicum
Demonstrated experience supervising the applied experience of those pursuing BACB certification
Experience with design of BACB Tasklist 5th edition verified course sequence
Demonstrated success in working with diverse learners
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with program faculty to inform course revision and program improvement
Experience with the use of innovative technology, online instruction and other synchronous and asynchronous distance learning modalities
