Rockland BOCES is seeking a Science & Technology Instructional Specialist (1.0 FTE) - to provide workshops and in-district curriculum support in standards-based science instruction and technology integration.
Must have a thorough knowledge of the Common Core State Standards in science, as well as an understanding of how college and career readiness standards translate to instruction and pedagogy;
Experience in teaching and/or content knowledge in secondary level Science courses.
Must possess a standards’ based, student-center learning, and higher-order thinking approach to teaching & learning;
Experience in providing staff development to teachers and administrators;
Experience in overseeing the integration of instructional technology.
Ability to plan, organize, facilitate, and manage 21st century information resources and learning technologies for Rockland BOCES a preferred skill
Ability to support and develop the understanding of the relationship between science and technology pedagogy;
Ability to understand, plan, and implement K-12 science and the use of effective instructional technology to support teaching and learning.
Communicates effectively in both oral and written forms;
Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with district and BOCES staff to support teaching and learning;
