This position is located in Mental Health Department, Naval Medical Center, San Diego, California. In this position you will provide a wide range of outpatient clinical services to primarily children and adolescents ages 3 to 18 who are dependents of active duty military personnel, retired service members, and other Tricare beneficiaries, and adults as needed; provide educational classes for the parents; and participate in inter-departmental training.

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of clinical psychologist experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: independently carrying out initial evaluations, crisis intervention, psychosocial evaluations, psychological testing, educational advocacy, individual, family and group psychotherapy for children and adolescents ages 3 to 18, and family members; providing services and consultations with a multidisciplinary medical model team.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS: This position has selective placement factors that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factors are: 1) Possession of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; 2) Possession of a permanent, full and unrestricted clinical psychologist license issued by a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. 3) Completion of 1-year American Psychological Association (APA) accredited clinical internship; OR completion of 1-year clinical internship NOT American Psychological Association (APA) accredited, but I have completed an APA-accredited postdoctoral residency or fellowship or have attained board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP); OR previous employment as a Clinical Psychologist commissioned/employed in the Navy prior to March 27, 2015 and has completed 1-year clinical internship training program NOT American Psychological Association (APA) accredited. 4) Completion of a 1 year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology or the equivalent in specialized training and supervised practice.
